    KATHERINE JEAN ULLOM, 55, of Katy, passed away Saturday, October 16, 1999, at her home in Katy. Survivors: Husband: Michael C. Ullom of Katy, Tx., Sons: Scott and Michelle Ullom of Midland, Tx., and Terry and Cricket Ullom of Sweeny, Tx., Grandchildren, Michael Ullom, Mitchell Ullom, and Dylan Ullom. Parents: Corwin and Jean Allar of Hayward, Wisconsin; Brothers: Gary Allar of Rochester, Minnesota, Steve Allar of Beulah, North Dakota, and Jeffery Allar of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as being a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Kathy was a volunteer at the Katy Medical Center. Mrs. Ullom will lie in state at the SCHMIDT FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, in Katy, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, October 18, 1999. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 20775 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, with Rev. Gail Ford Smith officiating.     Corwin Charles Allar, 95, a long time Hayward area resident, died Friday, February 27.

    He was born Oct. 19, 1919 in Springbrook, WI son of Charles & Vera Allar. He lived in Springbrook and Hayward nearly his entire life. He graduated from Spooner High School in 1939 and married Jean Arlene Gilbert on April 17, 1941.

    Corwin was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre for twenty eight months. He was a member of American Legion Post #328 in Springbrook and a member of the Moose Lodge #1867 in Hayward. He served on the Board of Education for the Spooner school district for 13 years and the Northern Lakes Coop Board for 9. He was the assessor for the Town of Bass Lake in Washburn County for 21 years and employed at the Northern Lakes Coop in Hayward for 33 years.

    Survivors include three sons, Gary (Barb) Rochester, MN, Steve (Connie) Surprise, AZ, and Jeff (Marjorie) Madison WI.; six grandchildren and many great grandchildren; son-in-law Michael Ullom, two brothers Robert Silver Bay, MN, Vernon Stone Lake, WI; sister Margaret (Danbury, WI) and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife -- Jean, son Doug, daughter Kathy, grandson Scott as well as brothers Ed and Ken and sisters Alice, Geraldine and Charlotte (infant).

    Corwin married Jean Arlene Gilbert on 17 Apr 1941 in , St. Charles County, Missouri, USA.     Jean A. Allar, age 85, of Hayward, WI passed away on Friday, July 6, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

    Jean Arlene Gilbert was born January 21, 1922 in Canton, WI the daughter of Samuel and Merle (Patchin) Gilbert. Jean was raised in Waukegon, IL for eight years and then moved to Chetek, WI and then Springbrook, WI with her family. Jean graduated from Spooner High School in 1940. On April 17, 1941 Jean was joined in marriage to Corwin Charles Allar in St. Charles, MO. Jean was a full time mom raising her five children. After her children were attending school she worked at various jobs in the Spooner and Hayward areas. Jean enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards, sewing, quilting, and flower gardening. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, Homemakers of Springbrook and attended Hayward Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed going to the Hayward Senior Center and loved spending time with her family.

    Jean is survived by her husband, Corwin; three sons, Gary (Barbara) of Rochester, MN, Steven (Connie) of Beulah, ND, Jeffery (Marge) of Green Bay, WI; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; son-in-law, Mike Ullom of Hot Springs Village, AR; one sister, Helen Lacy of Silverton, OR; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Katherine Ullom; son, Douglas Allar; sister, Lila (Ekern) Bergen; brother, Clarence Gilbert; and an infant sister, Elizabeth F. Gilbert.
