    She was born in Dixon, Ill., to Terry and Edith Johnston. She moved to Minneapolis as a toddler, where she graduated from West High School and the University of Minnesota. She married Ronald Welty, PhD during a blizzard Jan. 27, 1962 in Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis and Baton Rouge. Ron and Terrie moved to Raleigh, N.C., where Beth and Kurt were born. She taught kindergarten at Ravenscroft School for 10 years. After the family moved to Corvallis in 1982, Terrie worked for the State Employment office for 11 years. Ron and Terrie loved to travel and visited all 50 states, 23 foreign countries, including elder hostel visits to Panama and Mexico. Terrie was active in Corvallis Assistance League, OSU Folk Club and the Mario Pastega House. Ron and Terrie established the Welty Family Fund in the Benton County Foundation to provide financial assistance to outbound Rotary exchange students in Benton County and to the Corvallis Assistance League, Operation School Bell program.
    Terrie leaves behind her daughter, Beth Welty of Portland; son, Kurt Welty of Portland.

    Terrill married Ronald Earle Welty on 27 Jan 1962 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA. Ronald (son of Earle Henry Welty and Virginia Thompson) was born on 7 Dec 1934 in Winona, Winona County, Minnesota, USA; died in 2014 in Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon, USA; was buried in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA, Willamette National Cemetery.
