  James Dale Maguire, 73, of Pullman, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at his home. He was born and grew up in Chelan. He had worked at Washington State University for 40 years, where he was professor of crops and soils and director of the Seed Technology Laboratory, retiring in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Jan Maguire of the home; his children, Jeffrey Maguire, Peter Maguire of Hollister, Calif., Gary Maguire of Kirkland, and Christopher Maguire of New York; two brothers, Bob Maguire, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Larry Maguire, Port Orchard; and two sisters, Doris Jean Stamps of Chelan, and Mary Bailiff, Manson. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 440 N.E. Ash St. in Pullman, the Rev. Edgar Borchardt celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date at the Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan. Arrangements are by Kimball Funeral Home, Pullman. [1]
