The funeral for Iola A. Kinney, 94, of West Point will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point.
She died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at West Point Living Center.
She was born May 8, 1913, on a ranch near Missoula, Mont., and was raised by her parents, Frederick and Sadie (Davison) Young in Crofton where she attended school. She married Herbert Kinney on April 15, 1938, in Bloomfield and moved to West Point in 1949. They were married 58 years. She worked as a clerk at Baumann?s Department Store and Lil Carmody Dress Shop from 1950 to 1975, when she retired. Her husband preceded her in death April 24, 1996.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert ?Bob? (and wife, Dee) Hoesing, from a previous marriage, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Gary (and wife, Lois) Kinney of Hartington; a daughter, Sherry (and husband, Bill) Rasmus of West Point; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Mount Hope Cemetery Memorial Fund. [4]
