    Henry B. Lindberg, 80-year-old resident of Brainerd, Minn., formerly of Fort Ripley, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minn. Funeral services for Henry B. Lindberg will be held Friday at noon at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with Robert Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.

    Henry was born June 8, 1932, in Starbuck, Minn., the son of the late Olaf and Mollie (Scribner) Lindberg. The family moved to a farm in the Fort Ripley area when Henry was a young boy. He attended country school through the eighth grade. He then worked as a grain truck driver for a few seasons in North Dakota. Henry entered the U.S. Army on June 12, 1953, and was honorably discharged on May 5, 1955. He continued in the U.S. Army reserve until 1961. Henry was united in marriage to Ada Siegel on May 10, 1959. The couple divorced in 1994. Henry farmed most of his life in the Fort Ripley area. He also worked at Larson Boats and later at Crestliner in Little Falls, Minn. Henry was a talented musician. He could play the guitar, violin, fiddle and the accordion. He also enjoyed singing and dancing. Every year, he grew a large vegetable garden and shared his harvest. Most of all, Henry enjoyed socializing with family, friends and neighbors.

    Henry is survived by his special friend, Marilyn Crist; sons, John (Cindy) Lindberg, of Fort Ripley, Minn., and Alan (Marilyn) Lindberg, of Arkansas; daughters, Lori (David) Mindermann, of Red Lake Falls, Minn., and Shelly Lindberg and husband, Flynn Dustrud, of Madison, Wis.; brothers, Richard, Donald and Joseph Lindberg; sisters, Helen Vallaid, Ellen Lebrie, Irene Garrison, Donna Kelm, Mary Copa and Carol Hunter; 10 grandchildren.

    Henry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Orville and Eugene Lindberg; a sister, Shirley James.

    Henry married Ada Edna Siegel on 10 May 1959 in , Day County, South Dakota, USA. Ada was born on 25 Jun 1941 in , Morrison County, Minnesota, USA; died on 13 May 2017 in Brainerd, Crow Wing County, Minnesota, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
