    Clara Allar, Age 98, of Hayward, WI passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Water's Edge Care Center in Hayward.

    Clara was born December 8, 1916, the daughter of Henry S. and Anna (Strauf) Couey. She attended grade school in Stanberry and high school in Springbrook and Sparta. She married Glenn Allar on June 5, 1937 in Spooner, WI. Clara was a homemaker and raised ten children.

    She is survived by nine children, Janis (Robert) Bergum of Hayward, Glenora (James) Peltonen of Barron, Thomas (Lynn) Allar of Gillette, WY, Theodore Allar of Hayward, Dennis (Phyllis) Allar of Jordan, MN, Steven (Carol) Allar of Marshfield, Bonnie Hoffman of Hayward, Erlyn (Jennifer) Allar of Cable and Douglas (Tammy) Allar of Leon, KS; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.

    Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; one son Gerald; one grandson; two great-grandsons; three sisters, Erma, Blanch and Evelyn; two brothers, Erlyn and Edwin.

    Clara lived in Cable, Iron River, Port Wing, Benoit, Ashland and Hayward. She worked in housekeeping and cooking throughout the years at St. Anthony Nursing Home and the Ashland Nursing Home in Ashland, and the Hayward Nursing Home for many years. Clara's hobbies included baking, canning, tending to her family, making quilts and jig-saw puzzles. Many of her puzzles were hung in the Hayward Nursing Home.

    Gerald R. Allar, 69, of Cable, died Sunday, May 18, at Hayward Nursing Home. Gerald Ray was born Sept. 8, 1938 in Henry, Ill., the son of Glenn and Clara (Couey) Allar. He attended Cable Grade School and graduated from South Shore High School. Gerald worked for Dupont in Barksdale, Wis., was a maintenance man for Telemark in Cable and was also a painter. He also enjoyed fishing.

    He is survived by his mother, Clara of Hayward; brothers, Douglas (Tammy) of Eldorado, Kan., Robert of Cable, Tom (Lynn) of Gillette, Wyo., Ted of Hayward, Dennis (Phyllis) of Jordon, Minn., Steven (Carol) of Marshfield, Wis.; sisters, Janice (Bob) Bergum of Hayward, Bonnie Hoffman of Cable, Glenora (James) Peltonen of Clear Lake, Wis.; many nephews; nieces; and cousins.

    Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Glenn.

    Glenora A. Peltonen, age 74, of Baron, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, surrounded by her family at the Dallas Care and Rehab facility in Dallas.

    Glenora Ann was born March 7, 1941, in Henry, Ill., the daughter of Glenn and Clara (Couey) Allar. She was the third of ten children who were raised on the family farm near Port Wing. She graduated from South Shore High School and moved to Duluth, Minn. where she worked in a sporting goods store. She moved to Cayuga Falls, Ohio where she lived for five years. Glenora moved to Ashland and met James Peltonen, whom she married on June 1, 1974. They moved to Hammond where Glenora raised her children and operated a small daycare from her home. Glenora loved children, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards or bingo, picking four leaf clovers, reading, camping and watching a good movie. She was always willing to go along with a family member of friend on any adventure.

    Glenora is survived by her husband, James; five children, Lee (Christine) Adams of Indianola, Iowa, Richard Adams of Marietta, Ga., Harold Peltonen of Cornucopia, Tara Anderson-Harmon of Barron and Jamie (Jeremy Warner) Peltonen of Stone Lake; nine grandchildren; one great grandson; eight siblings, Janis (Robert) Bergum of Hayward, Thomas (Lynn) Allar of Gillette, Wyo., Theodore Allar of Hayward, Dennis (Phyllis) Allar of Jordan, Minn., Steven (Carol) Allar of Marshfield, Bonnie Hoffman of Hayward, Robert (Jennifer) Allar of Cable and Douglas (Tammy) Allar of Leon, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gerald.
